Il-yeong Station, Where Traces of BTS's 'Spring Day' Remain, Gains Attention as a New Fan Destination

Located in Jangheung-myeon, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Il-yeong Station (日迎驛) has gained recognition as a filming location for BTS’s Spring Day (2017) music video, attracting fans from all over the world.

Once a quiet and forgotten train station, it has now become more than just a transportation hub—it holds special meaning for visitors.

One of the most iconic scenes from Spring Day, where V walks along the railway tracks, was filmed at Il-yeong Station. The station’s vintage aesthetic, with its old platform and worn-out tracks, perfectly complements the song’s warm yet nostalgic atmosphere, making it an unforgettable place for fans.

Many visitors continue to flock to this site, recreating scenes from the music video and immersing themselves in BTS’s emotional storytelling.

Originally opened in 1961, Il-yeong Station served passengers until 2004, when operations were suspended, leaving it in silence for years.

However, on January 11, 2025, passenger services resumed with the reopening of the Gyeo-ui Line. Currently, the station operates eight daily train services between Daegok Station and Uijeongbu Station, with plans to increase frequency in the near future to accommodate more visitors.

Thanks to the Spring Day effect, Il-yeong Station has transformed from a simple railway stop into a must-visit destination for K-pop fans. The station has retained its historic charm, allowing visitors to experience the coexistence of past and present.

Surrounding the station, the scenic Gongneungcheon and Seokhyeoncheon streams provide a peaceful setting ideal for nature walks and relaxation. Additionally, a newly renovated exhibition space and café have been established, adding to the station’s appeal.

With its serene atmosphere and deep connection to BTS’s music, Il-yeong Station offers fans a place to create lasting memories.

Whether you are a dedicated K-pop fan or a traveler seeking a nostalgic railway experience, this hidden gem is well worth a visit.
