Jung Kook of BTS has notched another groundbreaking achievement: his solo track “Seven” has been certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), making it the first K-pop solo debut single to reach this milestone. Announced on April 6, the certification reflects over 400,000 units sold in the U.K., cementing Jung Kook’s dominance as a global solo star.

Released in July 2023, “Seven” — a sleek UK garage-inspired hit — stormed charts worldwide, holding the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart for two weeks straight. Its sultry vibe and Jung Kook’s magnetic vocals have kept it in heavy rotation, now boasting over 200 million streams in the U.K. alone. “This is a historic moment for K-pop,” said a BPI spokesperson, noting the genre’s growing influence.

Fans, dubbed ARMY, flooded social media with celebrations, trending #GoldenSeven worldwide. With military service still ongoing for some BTS members, Jung Kook’s solo success continues to carry the group’s legacy forward.
